JB Marks Education Trust Fund will hold its  4th Annual Career Expo at Izimbali Combined Boarding School, Amsterdam, in Mpumalanga Province South Africa.

The event will take place from the 11th – 13th May 2015. The Expo is hosted in partnership with Mpumalanga Department of Education, SABC Education, and the National Youth Skills Development Programme. The Department will ensure that 8000 grade 12 learners from 73 high schools from The Gert Sibande District Department of Education will attend the Expo over the three days.

The JB Marks Education Trust Fund was established by the National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) in 1997, to address the need for black educated graduates entering the mining, energy and construction sectors.

Over the last 17 years, it has continued unabated to fulfil this need by providing tuition for members of the National Union of Mineworkers and their families, achieving meaningful change and capacity-building through improved education. The Fund has enabled 830 bursars to graduate with mainstream tertiary qualifications (including 15 medical doctors) and disbursed R154 million to over 2000 beneficiaries, in the current year (2015) 200 bursaries were awarded making a total of 700 students still in the pipeline.

The media is invited to attend and cover the event.
